My tiny Sicilian mother, Aggie, made the BEST Italian food.  However, her baking took place mostly on birthdays and holidays, especially Christmas.  It has always been my favorite season for many reasons, one of which was looking forward to all of her Italian desserts. 


I have been in the kitchen baking various cookies and breads most of my life.  When I was nine years old, I baked my first batch of tollhouse chocolate chip cookies by myself.  I baked my first loaf of yeast bread at the age of 14.  It was not until I had my own family that I really started to focus on Italian desserts - especially
